turn off jaws auto reading
While on the internet
1 Press insert+V.
2 Go to General options.
3 Arrow down one time to document read automatically.
4 Press the space bar to turn it off.
5 If you tab over one time you will hear the following helpful message.
When this option is turned on, JAWS performs a Say All and automatically
begins reading the Web page that is open in your browser as usual.
This mode is convenient when surfing the Web with Internet Explorer or
Firefox; however, there are many times when a user would prefer that JAWS
just loads the page and reports the number of links and headings, but avoids
starting a say all. This could be very useful to disable if you are working
on pages with forms or using JAWS in conjunction with MAGic.
The default setting for this option is on.
Hi all,
I asked this question some month or so ago with no luck so thought I would
try again.
I would like to stop JFW telling me how many links and headings there are
on a web page when it is loaded. I would just like to load the page
without all that verbiage. I think this will make pages load a lot
quicker.
Thanks for any help.
Max.
