Hi Hans,
I am not running Jaws 8, but looked in my version, where you suggested, and
found the
use mouse-over tool tip, but I don't think this is the one to uncheck.
I found one in the speech and sounds manager on the HTML tab.
HTH,
Rick Justice

Hi Estelita.
It is long time ago since i used Jaws 8, but give this a try:
Go into the Configuration manager, e.g. when you are on the internet.
Now you will have the ritht settings for Jaws loaded and can go into the
Set Options menu, and HTML menu, and here you have different Tab's to move
between, and on the Link Tab i suggess that you'll find the choice to to
manage which information you want to get from Jaws, and disconnect the
function's that you not are interested in.
Remove the checkmark in the checkbox for MouseOver link's, and whatever
you want to stop Jaws speak about and select ok, and save your work by
pressing ctrl+s.
Than close the Configuration manager.
Good luck!
Hans Pauli.
