Don't the control keys work for line spacing still in Word 2007? Control-2 for double and control-1 for single line spacing. ----- Original Message ----- From: "priyanka agarwal" <[email protected]>

Hi Alan,
As you have mentioned about the line spacing in word 2007 using jaws
11 is very simple what you have to do is as follows
1. press Alt key to go to ribbon tool bar
2. now go to home tab option by pressing right or left arrow by
default home tab is the first option on the tool bar
3. now press down arrow and u will start hearing options and now you
can use right or left arrows to navigate
4. now you will hear paragraph group box in this you will find the
line spacing option and when you press enter on this option of line
spacing you will get lot of other options like spacing before
paragraph or after and so on
now you can choose your suitable option and move on
you can fuind styles menu in home tab itself.
iI beg your pardon if I have explained anything wrong or in an
unclear manner. My intention was to help you .

Dear Alan,

You can change the way lines are indicated via the text processing
option under the jaws configuration menu from within a word document
with jaws 11.

Just press jaws key together with the number 6, then alt s, then arrow
to text processing where you enter and go through the options. There
are at least three different options relating to line indication in jaws
11.

Choose and save your settings.

Regards,

Riana

Dear Glen,
You got that right!
Stupid ribbon!
Yes indeed!

Well, thanks anyway!
I still think JAWS should speak the blank extra line!

Alan,
Sounds like you are using a template with double line spacing.
The short answer is to select a Style for single lines.
Unfortunately i can't tell you where that is on the stupid ribbon but
in
Word 2003 it's in the Format Menu, under Styles and Formatting..

Dear Friends,
I had a unsettling experience when writing up a document using JAWS
11
and Word 2007.

I must have accidentally hit something to create double lines spacing

between my text lines, but JAWS would not read that!

I had the good luck to have some one see it on my screen before I
printed
it out!.

Why did JAWS just ignore the double spacing?

It took me some time with those $#&** Ribbons to find out how to make
my
line single spacing again, but why did JAWS not say "Blank" or
something?

Is this a "Bug" in JAWS with Word 2007?

I mean, I never had this problem when I was using JAWS 11 with Word
2003.

Thanks for any comments or suggestions on how to prevent this from
happening again.

Alan
