Thanks, I let it fix itself and will reboot later to see if it worked, off
to work now. Thanks for pointing me to the correct fix.

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Computer restriction!

Hello Rose,

There seems to be a problem that can happen when Google Chrome has been
installed and changed default file associations. Even when uninstalled,
registry values that were changed when Google Chrome was installed remain,
which affect the handling of HTM related file types. Microsoft has a Fix It
utility that you can download and run to resolve the problem. Use the "fix
this problem" link to start the process. There are also steps listed that
you can follow if you would prefer doing the fix. It might be a good idea
to try using the automatic fix first. There are two methods listed for when
you want to do the fixing. When on the web site, you need to use the link
for "method 1" or "method 2" to expand the instructions. The first method
doesn't involve working in the registry so you might want to try it first.
The link is shown below.

When your links are working in Outlook 10, you can use the JAWS key with
function key 7 to list links like you do in Internet Explorer.

I have not used this "Fix It" utility so I cannot vouch for its usefulness.
The only difference I notice in the error message you listed and the one
shown on the web site is that you have the term "Network Administrator" and
they show "System Administrator", but other than that the error message
seems to be the same.

Here is the link:

Take care. I hope you get this problem resolved.

No, this is inside an E-mail message. Not in IE.

Iassumed you used insert f7 then hitting enter on the link right? I do like
the fix you came up with. Great job guys.

Yes, I have tried it used to have to do it in an earlier version of outlook
but this time, it is not working for me. Silly computer anyway, who it
changed a setting I cannot find is beyond me.

John's suggestion is a good one. I've done that for so long that I had
forgotten that it was a way to get around the problem.

Rose, I had this problem and found that to activate a link I had to move to
the second character in the link and then press the enter key.
I do not know why this was the solution but a couple of others on this list
also found that solution to work.
Good luck.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Computer restriction!

Just recently I have been unable to click on links in e-mail and be directed
to the site, I am careful about this, however, recently Outlook 2010 has
given me a restriction message saying to contact my network administrator
which is me to change the behavior. I have been through all the settings
that I can think of in Outlook 2010 and IE 9 as well as control panel and
seems I cannot find a way to make me be able to follow links in e-mail.
Annoyed with having to copy and paste them every time and it seems that
either way could be bad if I were not a careful person.

What could I be missing and why did this behavior change over the last month
or so, before it happened I had not been messing around with settings in
months.
