Rich: Sound cards are just how, the computer is used to handle sound. Some of them are integrated, meaning that if you have a problem, chances are you'll need more then one part replaced if something goes wrong. There are separate ones which only handle sound, such as if someone were to be on a radio station and wanted one for their speech, and one for their music. hope i explained somewhat.
