On both counts: No. You can have Windows7 Home Edition (32-bit or 64-bit). All you'd need to do for the 64-bit Home edition would be to download the 64-bit Standard edition of JAWS from the FS Web site.

However, Windows8 is now almost universally on sale. You'd probably need to go online to buy Windows7. And, for Windows8, you will need JAWS14. (Again, Standard JAWS edition for Windows Home Edition.).)

I have jaws 12 home edition. my XP computer is starting to act up. would I have to upgrade to the professional version to use windows 7? if so what is the cost of that and would I also have to upgrade to Jaws 14 ? What would be the cost of that?
