Hi André,

In the JAWS Dictionary, Default, , you could try: reg , and replace with
r e g . Then Save. The replacement is the pronunciation that JAWS will
make the synth speak. You can also change an entry in the duictionaryif
you find the speaking of it unsatisfactory. not very elegant, I know; but these are the tools...

Now Referring to some earlier posts/threads on the Dictionary File
(JDF): This is an Exceptions Dictionary, so it should really be used
only as such - for pronunciation of exceptional words, or words that are
exceptions to the usual rules of pronunciation that obtain in the
language of use.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] pronounciation in vocaliser voices

Hi all

I have an idea that what I want to do is perhaps not possible.

It seems as if the vocaliser voices sometimes pronounce words as if they
are
acronyms. A good example is the group of letters r e g which when you
write
them as a word is pronounced as regarding. This seems to be the case no
matter what language synth you use.

I don't suppose that it is possible to change that?

Andre
