Hello Lenny,  When you opened the task manager did you go to the processes page 
tab?  It sounds like you might have just checked the applications that were 
open in the application page.  Use Ctrl with tab key in the task manager to get 
to the processes tab and then check the list of items for more than one listing 
of the winword.exe process.  Use the end task button if you find winword.exe.   
 This might not be the case but if all you found were listings for the 3 
applications that were open at the time then you might not have been in the 
processes page of the dialog.  I hope you get it worked out.   Take care.
