Hi Donnie, Have you tried pinning your Jaws 14 shortcut to the Taskbar? If you haven't, try the following: 1. Go to your start menu & then to All Programs. 2. Arrow down to Jaws 14 & press enter. 3. arrow up to Jaws but, don't press the spacebar or enter just have it highlighted / selected. 4. Now, press your applications key or Shift + F10 to open the context menu. 5. Arrow down to, pin to Taskbar, & press enter. This will pin a shortcut for Jaws 14 to your taskbar.
Now let me explain how this will work. After you have pinned your favorite programs to the Taskbar and you know how to launch them using the Windows key plus the numbers 1 through 9. However, if you are not sure where you put what, and need a reminder of which numbered slots your programs hold on the taskbar, simply hit Windows Key + T, and your focus will be on the first item in the taskbar. Press Windows Key + T, again to cycle through each item. Just count up in your head from 1 to 9 and you will know which program is in which slot. or, after pressing the Windows Key + T, the first time, you can right / left arrow through the Taskbar to view the pinned items to it. So, let's say that Jaws is in the fourth slot, if you unloaded Jaws you would press, Windows Key + 4 on the number row to launch Jaws. I also had a problem with shortcut keystrokes sticking & this is how I got around it. You can also unpin remove items from the taskbar by highlighting an item on the taskbar, opening the context menu, arrowing to the, unpin from taskbar, option & pressing enter. What I did was to unpin / remove everything from the taskbar so I could pin items to it in the order I wanted them. After you unpin everything from the taskbar & you know what order you would like your order to be in, go to the first shortcut / item you want on the taskbar open the context menu, arrow to pin to taskbar, & press enter. Now the order you pin them to the taskbar will be the order you open / start that application with the Windows Key + *, the * representing the number of the slot of an item. Here is how my taskbar is set: Win key + 1= Internet Explorer, Win key + 2 = Notepad, Win key + 3 = Jaws 13, Win key + 4 = Jaws 14, Win key + 5 = Jaws 15, & so on... I hope I didn't confuse the crap out of you but, using this feature in Win7 is really helpful after getting the hang of it. HTH Take care.
