hello there;

yes, ctrl+shift+n, will put you into an edit field where you can just type
the name of a new folder.
this is true for the desktop, and documents.
in my previous message, I gave the long version to create a folder, I
believe it's always good to learn how to navigate different menus.

When in the documents folder, or desktop, try CTRL shift n, and edit box
will appear saying new folder, backspace that out, type in the new name for
your folder and press enter.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] CREATING NEW FOLDERS IN WINDOWS 8.1

I noticed that several list members are now using Windows 8.1 as I am on a
laptop.

I have tried every trick I know and can't find out how to create a new
folder using 8.1. Can someone please rescue this poor frustrated Windows 7
user before I give up and re-load Windows 7?

(wicked grin)
