Try this, Tom
Press control a and copy the whole document (i think that more than the
first page will copy). Open a Word file and press Control V. It may
ttake awhile for the large doc to lopen in Word but it should do so with
no problems. I use this copy method all of the time as JAWS skips back
to prior text for me in adobe files with lots of graphics.

I have followed your latest suggestions about setting up the continuous
reading option, but still no luck.
I think I Am going to have to get sighted assistance here to help me figure
out what might be going on.

You can set your adobe settings to continuous reading. Control k gets you
to preferences. Type r for reading. Tab across for continuous reading.
Alternatively, you might want to set up your adobe to read even large
documents continuously. If you have a fast computer, large docs open
quickly. Alt e for edit then arrow down to accessibility.
You have two options. The set up assistant lets you select your reading
options. I always use continuous reading, even for large docs. A 20 page
doc is not so large as to be cumbersome.

Do you have to do this for every page, or just for page 2 to get it

This is a 20-page document, so it's going to be a pain to do the "go to"
option every time.

Hi Tom,
Sometimes when Jaws seems stuck on a page, I use the go to option in
the view menu, type in the page number I want and hit enter. Usually that
works.
Good luck,
Shari

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Advancinc Pages In A PDF File
Hello, all.
I'm trying to read a PDF document for work, and I am unable to
advance beyond the first page in the document.
I have reason to believe that the document is all there, due to the
file size.
I'm using Jaws 14 with Windows 7 on this particular computer.
Any help would be appreciated.
