Hi David, To my knowledge Openbook 7 will not work with Windows7. From what I understand Openbook8 is the earliest version you can use & if you are running a 64 bit system you have to get a special 64 bit Openbook8 64 bit disk from Freedom Scientific. When I go to launch the application, the IBM voice never speaks, and JAWS says nothing in OpenBook. If I turn on Narator, I here an error message in OpenBook saying "OpenBook is not responding." If I could get JAWS to talk in the OpenBook window, I might be able to figure out more what is going on, but I can't. Why do you think that OpenBook 7 is not responding if my installation seems to go Okay?
