Jorge,

Have you actually " Press shift F10, Then arrow to open with submenu, and
arrow to word doc enter," to create a new text file?
I can't see how it works. Can you explain further?

Hi,
Press shift F10,
Then arrow to open with submenu, and arrow to word doc enter,

Or use your word program to create a new doc.

Have you considered using the context menu when you are inside a folder?

Hello,

In Windows 7, Windows Explorer, I could hit Alt+F then W to get a list of
new items to create. From this list, I could choose Folder, text file,
excel workbook, etc.

Is there such a method of creating new items in Windows 10 File Explorer? I
know about the Control+Shift+N to create a new folder. I'm particularly
interested in how to create a new text file.

I don't see this topic discussed in any guide to File Explorer that I've
found.

Thanks,

Reed
