Thank you so much, I have win10, so I will try to figure this out. I will take the instructions given for Windows 8.1 and see if I can find these same settings for win10.

I do the same thing, write it in word and then paste it. Try speckie though and report your findings.

Kind of. It said that the spell-checker is built into Win7, which is what I found out when I tried to open the .exe file.

Incidentally, what I do when spelling really matters on a form in IE is write the text in Word, spell-check it there, then copy and paste into the online edit field.

Didn't it briefly mention what to do if you use windows 7 which I presume you use?

And, correction, slightly embarroussed as I confused misspelled announcement with word from IE. I thought one could do configure that setting in ie which I couldn't find, but speckie does work. I just need to figure out how I can have jaws echo the misspelled word to spell check seeing as I can't see red squiggly lines.

So, don't write long facebook posts and spell check it afterward.

Thanks for doing the legwork, Kimsan. Those instructions are for Windows 8 and 8.1. I have 7, so I need to look further into it, unless your later spell-checker idea works out.

When I googled it, this is what I found.

I'll do more research, as I've been looking for one, as well. I thought what I sent previously would help someone. If I find something else, I'll report.

Kimsan, thanks for this. However, after I downloaded the program, MS notified me that it's already installed on my system. It begs the question how do I make it work? I mean, it's nice to have, but I didn't download it for decorative purposes. If you don't have an answer at hand, I'll go hunting with Google.

Hi,
Well, welcome to the club. I have exactly the same issue that you do. I have Firefox able to spell check, but with IE, I cannot figure out anything to get that browser to spell check. I do not think that you can have IE spell check, but let us see if someone can give us the Miracle lOL! I would absolutely love it if I could spell check in IE, because that is the browser that I use for Facebook, and many times, I cannot spell a work in Facebook.
Take care,
David Moore

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Spell check for IE 11

Hello all:

Using windows 8.1-64, latest Jaws16 and IE11.

Could someone please tell me if there is a Spellcheck for IE11? I tired looking in the internet, but there seems to no be one.

Someone asked about this in the microsoft community, and someone answered them to check in control panel misspelled and another option regarding the suabject. Mine are checked, but it doesn’t check my spelling. Could it be that Jaws doen’t detect mistakes in this case?

I managed to find spell checks in English and Spanish for FireFox, but not for IE11.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Teresa Arroyo Llosa
