I have found this same problem with Outlook Express when I was using the latest JAWS, 7.1. I also went back to 7.0 and wrote Freedom Scientific to tell them I had and why. I think we all need to let them know we're having problems with the latest JAWS and ultimately returning to 7.0.

Hi all, I said I was going through a problem with my computer, and here it is. For some reason or another, whenever I'm working on something, be it e-mail, another program, but mostly it happens in Internet explorer, and especially when navigating the hotmail/MSN e-mail web site, Jaws loses focus and takes me into oblivion. I find myself having to alt-tab back to the window I was working with in order to bring it back in focus. Anyone have any idea why this is doing this? I've checked out my Jaws settings, and, as far as I know, they haven't been changed or anything, so I'm at a loss, at this point. Anyone have a clue?
