Patti - Okay. You didn't say what version of JAWS you're using, but it seems as though you're seeing the same results as David, so the best thing for anyone to do is to try. Running 7.10, I can manipulate the shown or hidden status using the SPACEBAR to check or uncheck, so mileages will apparently vary.
