alt-ctrl-I, which I would like to use for internet explorer, will not work.
Neither will alt-ctrl-L, wherever I assign it. There are others, but I
haven't made a full list of them. As I said, my initially thought was that
these were already assigned, somehow. But I can't find any record of them,
using HKSearch. I wonder if they could be preempted by some software I have
installed? but, as hksearch won't tell me this, I don't know how to
determine if this might be the case.

Thanks.

Blessed Be,
