Load Kurzweil, then hit insert 6 on the number row. This brings up the JAWS configuration manager using a file specifically created for Kurzweil. Then hit alt+S and arrow up once to the advanced options sub menu. Hit enter. Hit your space bar and then tab one time and hit the space bar again. This will check the two boxes you need to select. Hit enter and alt+F4. You will receive a prompt to save your changes, hit enter on yes. From now on JAWS will go to sleep when you load Kurzweil, but don't worry because just as soon as you leave Kurzweil it will start talking again automatically. I should post these instructions on the web site, note to self. I am also new to this list. My name is Vicki Howell, and I would like to know how to put JAWS to sleep. I have Kurzweil, and I am having problems getting it to scan, so I was told that I had to put JAWS to sleep.
