Not quite sure what you're referring to. What of the choices would up
the hardware requirements? The stuff we have going is pretty
lightweight, and hopefully it will stay that way even though the
features offered are not "light-weight".

But Jini is so much more, and it's still pretty lightweight (or at least
it seems to be). We would have to duplicate much of the stuff in there
anyway, so it seems reasonable to use that, which is tried and tested as
well (important point).
Are there any particular aspects about Jini, or the other specs we use,
that you don't like?
