hi thanks for the reply my java -version # java --version | libgcj-java-placeholder.sh | | This script is a placeholder for the /usr/bin/java | master link required by jpackage.org conventions. libgcj's | rmiregistry, rmic and jar tools are now slave symlinks to these | masters, and are managed by the alternatives(8) system. | | This change was necessary because the rmiregistry, rmic and jar tools | installed by previous versions of libgcj conflicted with symlinks | installed by jpackage.org JVM packages. | | This script was designed to be overridden by the supported RHEL3 JRE | packages, java-1.4.2-bea and java-1.4.2-ibm. It is installed as an | alternative symlink as /usr/bin/java. It will override a third-party | (non-RHEL3) JRE's java command if the JRE's bin directory is listed | after /usr/bin in PATH. In that case, it is recommended that the | third-party JRE's bin directory be listed first in PATH instead. | | gij (GNU libgcj) version 3.2.3 20030502 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.3-54) | | Copyright (C) 2002 Free Software Foundation, Inc. | This is free software; see the source for copying conditions. There is NO | warranty; not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. I have the correct # of lines in run.sh just typed # env and the PATH is (this is what you ment right?)
| PATH=/usr/kerberos/sbin:/usr/kerberos/bin://sbin://bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/root/bin | No cygwin is set. /usr/java/ contains only /j2sdk1.4.2/ and /jboss/ Just a few minutes ago I installed j2eesdk-1_4_03-linux as well which contains the dir /jdk/, does that contain the JVM? As you can see Im just learning this stuff and still haven't got it all under control, so Im very thankful for any help. ooh one other thing, do I have to setup the env variables everytime I start a command line? After closing the window(Im using Putty) and restarting a session, the env variables that I inputted are gone, is that normal? and if a vaiable is wrong ,like PATH possibly how do I edit whats currently there? Im setting env variables like this | # export JAVA_HOME=/dir/of/java | thanks again View the original post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3932181#3932181 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3932181 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media.
