Are you really serious?!?
Differences:
        1. no images displaying that may be offensive to casual observer
        2. IF i wish to click the link then, yes, easy to access
        3. does not AUTOMATICALLY take me to a given site, see #2 above
        4. ALL e-mail clients can read the message (ok, so you're a
technology geek that happens to have the latest and greatest e-mail clients,
and you happen to be on the latest and greatest OS (don't even think I mean
MS WIndows-anything!!), not everyone is/does)

Configure to not send. Hopefully your state-o-the-art e-mail client allows
you to NOT send read receipts. Heck, even MS products have that option. ;)

Not quite sure what you're driving at either. Except maybe...
        1. you like HTML e-mail
        2. you like HTML e-mail
        3. you really like HTML e-mail

But why? And the "enhanced user experience" is a complete crock. Enhanced
user experience for what? Looking at an advertisement? I'll bet you like
popup windows on websites as well.

Some examples of HTML e-mail that ACTUALLY enhance the user experience?
(that are not advertisements, please)
