Well, the first thing that comes into my mind: Name one commercial expert system that is as well supported as Jess ! Here u get bugfixes at first hand and help from the author. Futhermore, as Matt pointed out, Jess is available in source code and free for personal use. Not really common among the highly priced commercial expert systems. Last but not least, Jess is more portable and scalable than the commonly C-based commercial expert systems. Machine too slow ? No problem, take a huge Sun Enterprise server or an 8-way Intel Xeon server or an HP PA8000 or whatever u like. CU Norman -----Original Message----- From: Manoj Kumar T.C. Is it just a matter of cost? Or is there any specific reason why people prefer developing systems using Jess/Clips?? truly, ===== ================================================ Manoj K Thoppil Chandran; M.Sc., M.Pharmacy Grad.
