God's Work Ministry E-Mail

Dear Friend,

I hope you are doing well and are in the best of health. I am doing very
well and am thankful to the Lord for this day that He has given me. If it
were not for the Lord leading and guiding my life since I was 19 years old,
I dread the thought of how my life would have turned out. Thankfully, God
saved me from my sins and called me into His service. I am thankful to the
Lord for this Ministry that is established under His name and meant to be
used to encourage and inspire God's people from around the world. It is
my prayer that you have benefited from every area of GWM and received much
encouragement and inspiration these past months and years. I do give God
all the glory, honor and praise because if it were not for His leading,
this Ministry would not have been the blessing that it is to the thousands
of members who are a part of it. Praise the Lord for His goodness.

The Lord has spoken to my heart to focus this message on doing good deeds
for others and showing them both the love of God and the love that you have
for them. The Lord Jesus spoke many times about doing good to others and
allowing our life to be used to glorify God in heaven. It is by our good
works that people can see that they are loved, appreciated and important
in our eyes. The Bible declares in Galatians 6:10, "As we have therefore
opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of
the household of faith." No matter who we are and no matter how tough our
situation may be right now, we each have the ability to do good to our
fellow man and glorify our Father in heaven.

An incident I think of often proves to me that good deeds will be thought
upon far longer than the giver ever thought possible. In 1994 when I was
16 years old, my friends and I decided to go to the beach to spend the day
in the sun and have fun together. There were eight of us so we had to take
two cars to get to the beach. It was an uneventful drive for the most part
except for when we got close to the beach parking entrance. My friends and
I were in the lead car and our other four friends were in the car behind
us. Before we pulled into the parking entrance, our friend who was driving
behind us waved his hand asking to be let in ahead of us. We didn't think
much of it at the time as we were busy in conversation of things I have no
recollection of, but what happened next stuck in my mind all these years.

As our friend pulled in ahead of us, he paid the parking fee for his car
and went in to the beach entrance. As we pulled up to the tollbooth to
pay our parking fee, the attendant informed us that the car ahead of us
had already paid our parking fee and that we were welcome to enter. As
young kids we were appreciative for the kind gesture and said our thanks
when we pulled up next to them, but it was many years later that I came to
truly appreciate that good deed. It was only a few dollars that our friend
paid for us, but the thought and love that went into it meant far more than the
amount he paid.

It is for this reason that I know others appreciate when something nice is
done for them. They may not make a big deal about it in that moment, but
in their quiet time they will remember and be thankful that others love
them enough to do something nice to make them happy. It may be a miniscule
amount of money to the giver, but the recipient will appreciate not the amount
it cost, but the thought and love that went into it. I can vouch for this
fact myself.

I'm sure you have a memory clear in your mind when someone unselfishly gave
of themselves to do something nice for you to show you that you are greatly
loved. Just as we have been blessed to be recipients of good deeds, we are
to have that same love and care towards others and give them that feeling
of being loved and appreciated. Also, it does not have to be someone that
we know to do something nice for, but it can be a complete stranger showing
them that humanity still has love for their fellow man.

Be encouraged to take the initiative and do something nice for someone that
you know or don't know. It does not have to be a special occasion or a
special date associated with your good deed, but can come completely out of
the blue surprising that one with something special that will be remembered
far longer than you can ever think or imagine. Please take this message to
heart and see if what I say is true. Do something nice for someone else
and see the results of the seeds that you planted come to fruition.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

2 Corinthians 9:7-8 "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so
let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful
giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye,
always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work."

Colossians 3:16-17 "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;
teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or
deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father
by Him."

1 Corinthians 10:31-33 "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever
ye do, do all to the glory of God. Give none offence, neither to the Jews,
nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: Even as I please all men in
all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may
be saved."

1 John 2:9-11 "He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother,
is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the
light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth
his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not
whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes."

1 John 4:10-12 "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved
us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God
so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at
any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is
perfected in us."

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.

Dear Friend,

We should always try our best to be a blessing towards those around us.
The Lord Jesus has given us the command to love our neighbor as ourselves
and shine our light brightly that all may seem Whom we belong to. We are
to be a beacon of hope and love and do for others what we would want them
to do for us. When we bless others by our good works, we not only shine
the light that is within us, but we also show the recipient that they are
loved and thought upon. The Bible declares in Galatians 6:10 "As we have
therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them
who are of the household of faith." Be encouraged to allow the Lord to use
you to do good unto all men that they may see your good works and glorify
your Father in heaven. (Mark 12:31) (Luke 6:31) (Romans 12:9) (Matthew 5:16)

I hope this message encourages your heart to think of what you can do to
be a blessing to someone else. You will soon find that in giving, you
receive the greater blessing.

THE VERY BEST GIFT OF ALL

Christmas is just around the corner and many people are anxious to choose
just the right gift for those that they love. Many people agonize over what
to give. We all want to give something special and we want it to cause the
eyes of those that we love to light up with joy. We want to give the very best
gift of all!

As I considered this, I remembered a story, Christmas Day In The Morning,
which was written many years ago by Pearl S. Buck. The story was about a
teenaged boy whose father woke him early each morning at 4:00 A.M. It was
milking time and he needed his son to come and help milk the cows.

One day the boy overheard his father telling his mother how much he hated
to awaken his son so early but he was unable to do all the chores alone.
Through hearing this conversation, the boy came to understand how much his
father loved him although he had never verbalized that fact to the boy.
That morning the boy did his work with unusual enthusiasm because he
realized how much his father loved him.

Christmas time was coming and the boy had gotten his father a small gift
at the store like he always did but this year he just wished he could do
more. He thought and thought about someway he could show his father how
much he loved him when an idea came to him. He decided that on Christmas
Eve he would do all of the milking by himself as a surprise gift to his father.
True to his commitment, he managed to get himself up at 3:00 A.M. and he crept
down the stairs and out to the barn. The boy had never done all of the milking
by himself before but he found a new energy and excitement in the task before
him. He fed and milked all the cows by himself until all of the empty milk cans
were filled.

Afterward, he quietly made his way back into the house with just barely
enough time to get back under the covers before he knew his father would
come in to wake him at 4:00 A.M. As usual, his father came to the door and
sadly announced that even though it was Christmas that it was time to get up
and do the milking. His father went on out to the barn ahead of his son to get
things started.

Of course, when his father got to the barn, he soon found that his son had
done all of the chores by himself and he was overcome with joy at the great
gift his son had given him. For the first time, his father was able to
enjoy watching all of his children come downstairs on Christmas morning.
On other Christmas mornings, he had not made it back from the barn before
the children awakened. It was a special gift that both father and son
remembered all of their lives and I don't imagine either of them ever
questioned the unspoken bond of love between them.

The account of the boy and his father tells us that the very best gift of
all isn't something that is bought in a store. Like the boy in the story,
it takes an overpowering desire to let others know that you love and care
for them. That kind of overpowering desire comes from the heart and was
demonstrated to us on the very first Christmas. It came straight from the
heart of God when He gave the world the very best gift of all!

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good
tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born
this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:10-11

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Galatians 6:9-10 "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season
we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do
good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."

1 Thessalonians 5:11-14 "Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify
one another, even as also ye do. And we beseech you, brethren, to know
them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish
you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be
at peace among yourselves. Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are
unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men."

Matthew 5:14-16 Jesus declares, "Ye are the light of the world. A city
that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and
put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all
that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may
see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Colossians 3:23-25 "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord,
and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of
the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong
shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of
persons."
