God's Work Ministry E-Mail

Dear Friend,

I hope you are doing well and are in the best of health. I am doing very
well and I am thankful to the Lord for His continued blessings upon my life
and this ministry. The Lord is so good to us and His blessings abound much
more than we deserve. I can be a witness that He has not left my side nor
forsaken me all the days that I have served Him. God has supplied all of
my needs and has given me the inspiration and direction needed to guide my
life and this work that is founded under His name. We who serve in this
Ministry are dedicated, diligent, faithful and obedient to His calling. I
try my best to do all that God puts on my heart and I leave the results up
to Him. God has done more with my life than I could have ever hoped or
dreamed to do on my own. I hope you have been blessed by this work and
have blessed others with your inspiration.

The Lord has spoken to my heart to write a message on God's strength, our
dependence on Him and our quiet confidence that all will be well. There is
a story that I think on that shows how faithful the Lord is to those who
depend on Him. The only thing God requires in return is our confession
that He did it and not we ourselves. Humility before the Lord is greater
than the riches of the world. The Bible declares in Psalm 100:3, "Know ye
that the LORD He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves;
we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture." I hope this message on
trusting and depending on the Lord encourages you to put on humility and
lowliness of heart knowing that God is the One who brings victory and
triumph into our lives. (Hebrews 12:28-29) (1 Peter 5:5-7) (1 Corinthians 15:57)

There is a story in the Old Testament about Gideon. Gideon was faithful to
God and was used greatly by the Lord to defeat the enemies of Israel. It
happened that God called Gideon to fight the armies of Midian. The armies
of Midian had a total of a 135,000 trained warriors to fight against
Israel. When Gideon gathered his army of warriors to fight the Midianites,
Gideon's warriors totaled a number of 32,000 men. (Judges 6:14)

God spoke to Gideon and told him that he had too many fighters to fight
the Midianites. God said if I allow you to use all these men to fight the
Midianites, they will think that they defeated them with their own strength
and not because I was with you. So God told Gideon to send those who were
timid or afraid back to their homes. A total of 22,000 men returned home
leaving only 10,000. Still God saw that they were too many and would be
prideful and boastful when they defeated the Midianites. So another test
that God told Gideon to do brought the number from 10,000 warriors down to
300 men. Now God was satisfied. He would use 300 men to defeat 135,000
Midianites to show that God is faithful to those who follow His command.

When Gideon and his 300 men drew near to fight the Midianites, God caused
confusion to come upon the Midianites and because of this, they turned on
each other killing one another making it easy for Gideon and his warriors
to defeat that vast army. Not one of Gideon's men died in that battle, but
every single person from the Midianite army was killed. The Lord used just
300 men to defeat 135,000 men and showed all Israel how Mighty the Lord
truly is. (Judges 7-8:23) (2 Chronicles 16:9) (Isaiah 50:2-10) (Exodus 4:11-12)

The point that I want to emphasize is that God wishes to fight our battles
and lead us into victory. When we are weak, He is strong. When we are
alone, He is our comforter. When we have no strength, He is our perfect
strength. The Lord wishes to show Himself strong on behalf of those who
trust Him. He is our encourager, helper, comforter, deliverer, director
and Savior. There is no want in them that trust Him. The Lord Jehovah is
everlasting strength. There is no weariness in Him and the Lord never
slumbers nor sleeps. Humble yourself before the Lord and confess with
your mouth that you trust Him in everything and because you do victory will
be yours. (2 Corinthians 12:9) (Psalm 34:22) (Psalm 121:1-8) (2 Chronicles 16:9)

Be encouraged to never be prideful or arrogant thinking that you can do it
all. We are created from the dust of the earth and our life is as a vapor
that is here today and gone tomorrow. Instead, boast in the Lord and in
His goodness and know that those who give glory to God will never be left
wanting, but will be filled with all good things for the remainder of their
days. Praise the Lord for such goodness and mercy that is offered to all
who humble themselves before Him and confess that He has made us what we
are and not we ourselves. (1 Samuel 2:3) (Genesis 3:19) (Psalm 34:2)

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Isaiah 42:8 "I am the LORD: that is My name: and My glory will I not give
to another, neither My praise to graven images."

2 Chronicles 16:9 "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the
whole earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is
perfect toward Him."

Isaiah 1:18-19 "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD:
though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they
be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient,
ye shall eat the good of the land."

Proverbs 8:17-21 "I love them that love me; and those that seek me early
shall find me. Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and
righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my
revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of righteousness, in the
midst of the paths of judgment: That I may cause those that love me to
inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures."

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.

Dear Friend,

The greatest gift that we can offer others is the gift of our love. When
people know that they are loved and cared about; it gives them a feeling of
reassurance and comfort knowing that there are others out there who wish
for their well-being. The Lord Jesus said the greatest commandment is to
love God with all our heart and the second is equal to it; to love our
neighbor as we love ourselves. Be encouraged to do all that you can for
those close to you and shine your light so that all may be encouraged and
inspired by the example of love that you have set forth. (Matthew 22:36-40)

I hope this message encourages your heart to show your love, care and
support for those close to you and be a light of encouragement that shines
farther than the eye can see.

KNOWN AND LOVED

One day I was driving a group of friends to a family seminar in Holmes
County, Ohio. The village of Berlin was about an hour from our home. The
seminar was held at a Mennonite Church. It is my favorite setting for a Basic
Seminar.

On Saturday the seminar is all day. In my hurry, I left the house without
cash and without food. I left that morning a little frustrated that I would
have to go all day without eating.

I consoled myself with the thought that I could fast and it would allow me
to concentrate more on the rich teaching that I would receive. It was a
beautiful day and the drive was pleasant through countryside that is dear
to my heart. The company was good. I enjoyed conversation with my friends
about the things of the Lord as we drove.

When we arrived I found my place and settled in to enjoy the seminar. The
morning passed swiftly and I noticed no hunger. When the noon hour came I
went to the van to spend some time alone with the Lord. On the church
grounds was a hill crowned with a giant Maple. In the shade of the tree
people began to spread quilts and open large picnic baskets. Out came the
food and my resolve to fast began to wane. I watched the Amish and
Mennonite moms draw meals from baskets and I knew it would be impossible
to meditate with this feast going on in front of me.

I started the van and drove into the village of Berlin. I found the Christian
bookstore and spent some time browsing among the books. I have loved books
since I was a child. One of my favorite places on earth is a good bookstore.
Standing there I sensed someone behind me and felt a hand on my back. I turned
and was shocked to see Lois standing there. "What are you doing here?" I said.

She smiled. I looked down into her deep brown eyes. "I couldn't stand the
thought of you going hungry so I brought you some money." My heart welled
up with love for her in that moment. We ate lunch and kissed goodbye. I
went back to the seminar and she made the hour-long trip back home.

Remembering that day two things stand out in my mind. First that Lois
would know that I was hungry and care enough to drive two hours just so I
would not have to go without food. Second, that when she went to the
church and saw I was gone she knew exactly where she would find me.

I am a wealthy man. I have a wife who both knows me and loves me.

By Kenneth L. Pierpont

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Philippians 2:5-7 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant,
and was made in the likeness of men."

1 John 3:16-19 "Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down
His life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But
whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth
up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and
in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our
hearts before Him."

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth
us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in
any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as
the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by
Christ."

1 John 4:10-12 "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved
us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God
so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at
any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is
perfected in us."

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
