Dear Friend, It is important in life that we have a never give up attitude. No matter the storms, struggles or hardships, if we say diligent and in faith, then we will have the victory. It is easy to want to give up when we focus so much on the trial before us, but if we change our thinking and focus on the end result, then we will face each challenge with a renewed vigor and determination that we will be triumphant. We need to train ourselves to look past the storms and remember that sunshine always comes after the rain. After our trial, we will receive our reward for staying diligent and unwavering in faith. The definition of faith as described in the Bible is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. When we see what we have believed for, then faith has manifested itself. Until you receive your answer, keep believing, keep praying, keep hoping and keep staying in faith. The Bible says the Lord will perfect that which concerns me. The Lord wishes for you to be perfected and if you are not there yet, just remember that you are a work in progress. You are becoming better day by day, week by week and month by month. Never give in and never give up. He is faithful to those who stay faithful to Him. No matter the storms around you, keep your eyes focused on the Great I Am. The Lord has yet to fail on anyone who has depended on Him. The Lord will move Heaven and Earth to make sure your needs are met, so you stay strong and encouraged no matter what is going on around you. (Psalm 138:8) Always remember that God loves you with an everlasting love. He has no motive with us except that we show our gratitude and appreciation for all that He has done for us in times past. Give thanks to the Lord for all that He has done for you and use your remembrance of His past intervention to encourage yourself in this present time knowing that He will do it again. I hope this message encourages and inspires your heart to stay diligent and unwavering even in the midst of the greatest storms. They will cease and you will be victorious, just keep being steadfast and don't give up. NEVER GIVE UP One day a young lady was driving along with her father. They came upon a storm, and the young lady asked her father, "What should I do?" He said "keep driving". Cars began to pull over to the side, the storm was getting worse. "What should I do." The young lady asked? "Keep driving," her father replied. On up a few feet, she noticed that eighteen wheelers were also pulling over. She told her dad, "I must pull over, I can barely see ahead. It is terrible, and everyone is pulling over!" Her father told her, "Don't give up, just keep driving!" Now the storm was terrible, but she never stopped driving, and soon she could see a little more clearly. After a couple of miles she was again on dry land, and the sun came out. Her father said, "Now you can pull over and get out." She said "But why now?" He said "When you get out, look back at all the people that gave up and are still in the storm, because you never gave up your storm is now over." Just because everyone else, even the strongest gives up, doesn't mean that you have to. If you keep going, soon your storm will be over and the sun will shine upon your face again. Author Unknown Read and meditate on these scriptures: 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God." 2 Corinthians 12:8-10 "For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong." Jeremiah 32:17-18 "Ah Lord GOD! behold, Thou hast made the heaven and the earth by Thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for Thee: Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is His Name." Psalm 37:3-6 "Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass. And He shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday." All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible. Doing things from our heart for those we love will be remembered and thought upon for years to come. Be encouraged to do the things that will last in your memory the longest. Reading stories, sitting by the fire eating marshmallows and simply spending time with one another will create memories that will last a lifetime. I hope this message inspires your heart to do all that you can to create memories with your loved ones that will be remembered for years to come. FOREVER GIFTS Christmas is a season when we give gifts to those we love. Like the three wise men of old too we each hope to find the perfect gift to express our love. As I look back on all the perfect gifts that I have gotten over the years, however, I have noticed that none of them came wrapped in paper or were put under a tree. Still, each of them found a forever home in my heart. My Italian Grandma gave me the forever gifts of her big, strong hugs and soft, gentle kisses. My Mom's sweet smile, twinkling eyes, and joyful laughter were gifts which lit up my life for so many years. My Dad gave me the gifts of his wisdom and common sense even though I didn't always use them. My brothers gave me the gift of time. Although I was several years younger they always made the time to play with their "little brother." My first dog gave me the gift of unconditional love and loyalty. A beautiful girl gave me the gift of my first kiss which made me tingle from head to toe. A favorite teacher gave me the gift of seeing that learning can be a joy instead of a job. My children gave me the gifts of tiny arms wrapped around my neck and "I love you Daddy" whispered in my ear. So many beautiful souls blessed me with the gift of their friendship. I also got gifts in the smiles of strangers, the hugs of neighbors, and the kind letters from people all over the world who had read my writings. Each one of them was precious. Each one of them was eternal. Not a single one of these forever gifts could be bought in a store. They all had to be given from the heart. They won't break, rust, or rot either. Instead I will carry them in my soul all through this life and into the next. This Christmas then and every day of the year give your own forever gifts to those you love. Remember too the wise words of Leo Buscaglia: "This life you are given is God's gift to you and how you live it is your gift to God." By Joseph J. Mazzella Read and meditate on these scriptures: Galatians 6:2-4 "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another." Romans 15:1-4 "We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not Himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on Me. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope." Romans 12:10-14 "Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not." Isaiah 49:13-16 "Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted His people, and will have mercy upon His afflicted. But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of My hands; thy walls are continually before Me." All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible. It is also easy to look at the bad and quickly find something to complain about, but the challenge in living a successful Christian life is being thankful and appreciative for all that we do have in the midst of the struggles that we are facing. We are to see our glass as half-full and never have empty. We are to focus on the many good things that we do possess and give thanks for them knowing that life could be much more difficult than it is right now. The attitude that we portray in the midst of difficulty has a direct connection on how quickly we will overcome that negative situation. We have to be conscious of our countenance. Are we cheerful and in a good mood or are we pessimistic and easily annoyed? Do we see ourselves as victors or as victims? Are we ready to overcome our challenges or do we feel like giving up? We must have the attitude of a successful, overcoming and victorious people. We must see ourselves as above only and not beneath, as lenders and not borrowers, as the head and not the tail. When God looks at us, He paints a picture of a triumphant people who are well able to overcome any challenge and stand in victory. Let us have that same mind frame and choose to be cheerful, happy, at peace, filled with the joy of the Lord and have a deep and sincere knowing in our hearts that All Is Well. The Bible says let God be true and every man a liar. His Word says we are His workmanship who are well able and well-equipped to overcome every trial and every hardship. See yourself as God sees you and put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. Always remember that the Lord loves you and has promised that He would never leave you nor forsake you. Encourage yourself in Him and have the attitude of Praise and Thanksgiving all the days of your life. I hope this message inspires and challenges your heart to have a good and positive attitude at all times and do not allow anything to bring down your spirits. OUR PERFECT DESIGN Do you know that it takes more facial muscles to frown than it does to smile? Scientists have also found that it is more draining on the body to be depressed than it is to be happy. Anger and hatred too have been found to use up more energy and vitality than the body can replace while joy and love have actually been found to replenish your energy and vitality. Worry and mistrust are among the greatest destroyers of our zest for living that there are as well. Faith and oneness with God on the other hand tend to produce a calmness that keeps our strength and zest for living high. Pessimism, despair, complaining, and self-pity all make us feel like we are dead inside, but optimism, enthusiasm, cheerfulness, and merriment all make us feel like we could live forever. When all this is taken together then it becomes clear that God designed us to live in love, joy, goodness, and oneness with Him. When we live in and choose these things we come alive with energy and vitality. When we don't, we grow closer to death with each passing day. The rewards for choosing love, joy, and oneness with God are immediate and glorious too. Everything inside of us becomes better and everything in our lives becomes better. We become blessed rather than stressed. We smile and feel good in the many wonderful choices we make each day. We grow more and more delighted and enlightened while becoming a shining light to all the souls around us. We make the whole world more beautiful just by being in it. God loves us all so much. He designed us for joy. He designed us for love. He designed us for unending delight and eternal life. He designed us to live in oneness with Him always. Let us always live by our perfect design then. Let us always choose love, joy, life, delight, energy, vitality, and oneness with God. Let us rejoice in these things today, tomorrow, and forever and always share them with everyone everywhere. By Joseph J. Mazzella Read and meditate on these scriptures: Psalm 34:1-5 "I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together. I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto Him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed." Psalm 16:8-11 "I have set the LORD always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. For Thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt Thou suffer Thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in Thy presence is fulness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore." Psalm 103:1-5 "Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's." Psalm 118:5-9 "I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes." All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
