Ray, Jetspeed directly uses Velocity and JSP for layout and content generation. Turbine, ECS, Log4J, are also used by Jetspeed. Currently it does NOT use Cocoon! Their has been interest in a Cocoon portlet for a while, but it as not be implemented. Implementing a Cocoon portlet is on the ToDo list.
