Hello Nellie,   I have heard that vinegar works well as fabric softener. I have never tried it. My DH "needs" the smell that fabric softeners have. He is very brand sensitive, so I "smuggle" the store brand into our house. LOL! There are many things in his life that he is better off not knowing!
