Hi everyone, I am looking a nms for our LAN system, but want to know more of the operation, thanks a lot.
1. How does the real monitor operation? By SNMP or by TCP? Does any "agent" or applications installed to the target machine if using SNMP? 2. Does it has any function designed for monitor IDS machine? 3. I saw the doc on web side said it can running on "remote site", what does it means? It can monitoring a machine by remote site or I can read the console by remote method? 4. I have some network based devices want to monitor the up/down status, they are KVM (running on IP based), 3Com switch (own an IP), can I monitor them by jffnms? 5. Can I have a realtime static report for servers and services? And can I gen historical report by time/day/week/month? 6. How does the alert operated? By email, sound, IM, SMS or any? 7. It said it support SSL/HTTPS, what does it means? 8. Can I assign different user rights by each singal user? (such as view report, change the combination of report viewer, allow to view which screen... etc) 9. Besides csv, what file format can I gen from the report?
