I went ahead and unchecked language recognition, since it was advised. I figured if something weird happened, I could always go back and check it.

Since English is one of the worst "stealers of words" and absorbing them into the language unchanged from their original spellings, it would be mighty dangerous to use anything like a single word for a language detection function.
