Carolyn, I understand what you're describing, but even a regular Word document can employ form fields in it.
I will be curious if anyone else can identify a mechanism that one could use that would allow text entry that should appear on a single physical line that does not move the text that follows it that does not employ either a table or form. It's been ages since I used Word 2003, so perhaps there was some method that was discontinued in later versions of Word or else that I am completely unaware of. My offer still stands if you'd care to e-mail me a copy of the Word 2003 file you'd been using to do this. Brian
