I agree, and if that's so it needs to be reported to the folks at groups.io. The intended function, "mute this thread," is abundantly clear. I can find nothing in the online settings that would cure the problem unless the given "mute this thread" link changed the subscription e-mail preferences to "no email." I'm going to turn my digest back on so that I can try muting this thread and see what, if anything, that seems to do to the subscription settings. I have reset my e-mail delivery option to "Full-featured daily digest" for this diagnostic experiment. I'll report back on what I find. Brian
