Yeah, that's what I saw. It was confusing but another lister did a step by step and I was able to uncheck use accelerated hardware. Thanks for chiming back in.

There's a Combo box that lists categories: General, tabs, Content, Applications, Privacy, Security, Sync, and Advanced. If you select Advanced in this combo box, then press the Tab Key, there are a series of Tabs that you can move between with Control Tab. These tabs are: General tab, Data Choices tab, Network tab, Updates tab, and Certificates tab. It is this General Tab that you want. Note that I'm using Firefox version 29.0.1.
