I'm using windows 8.1 but lets try this.
Press the windows key and in the search, type in notification area icons.
Press enter on the result that says notification area icons.
now, you should be in this window where you can tab and as you tab, there
will be names of programs/applications and a combobox where you could use
your up or down arrow to make changes for the appearance for the system
tray. The options include: show icons and notifications, hide icons and
notifications, and only show notifications.
After making your selection, tab to the ok, button and press
spacebar.

I used your keystroke windows key B and finally got to the notification
button. Then when I pressed enter or the space bar on notification I got no
response. In other words my system tray didn't get anything additional. I
would love to blame myself and call it a day but something else is going on
that I can't fathom. I need Mozy and Jaws in my sys tray and can't follow
simple directions because for whatever reason the system vlocks me. Any
clues?

Thanks so much for this tip. I've been having issues with jaws and the
systray for ages but this fixed it.
