Damien correctly pointed out an important issue in my opinion which is
3/ The main problem is that we have switched from an approach where we
"patched" the application to configure it, to an approach where we generate a
packaged configured application, ready to be deployed on any app server. I
think the problem is there, the config wizard should be able to perform both
those two operations. Then, user would be able to choose what he want to do,
the default operation being "patching to configure"
I have been working (and discussed with Thomas) some improvements that could
be made in order to:
1. reduce the installation time
2. reduce the number of files that are copied
3. reduce the number of potential bugs
4. Still keep the "yey" effect
And still keep the possibility to have a war/ear generated at the end of the
configuration wizard.
We'll keep you updated on the events
