If you have an SD card handy, can you make a 'var' folder on it. Then reboot Jive with the SD card in and try a firmware upgrade. Once it has failed turn Jive off and post the logs. Otherwise reboot Jive while pressing the volume up button, this will boot to the previous firwmare and hopefully you'll be able to then upgrade.
