Thought I'd share my thoughts on my most recent SlimDevices care package...
Controller: It's nice to finally hear the audio feedback provided when spinning the wheel/hitting buttons. My first controllers external speaker didn't work (yes it was enabled and at full volume). Scrolling through artists has definitely improved through various firmware upgrades, but it still seems to take more effort to find a particular artist than ideal. It appears to be trying to mimic my iPod nano's functionality by showing large letters while scrolling, but it doesn't seem to skip letters fast enough when spinning really fast. I haven't had this happen yet on my new controller, but the Flickr screensaver seems to randomly get stuck while cycling photos requiring a full restart to get working again. Receiver: Like the build quality. Very solid and like the fact that the branding isn't obvious. I had no problem setting it up although at one point it listed a 'Squeezebox 3' in addition to another entry on the controllers 'Choose Player' screen. When I'd use the spinner to choose one it would skip over one of my existing players. I think the multi-color LED is really cool. It currently goes to a bright white while playing audio but is a dimmer white while not playing or in the off state. I personally think two different colors should be used, one for on/off and another for playing/paused. Then alter the color brightness to indicate on vs off and playing vs paused. Maybe even use different colors to indicate lossless vs lossy vs Internet stream. More feedback once I'm able to play with it more. -Greg -- GoCubs ------------------------------------------------------------------------ GoCubs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=312 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=42570 _______________________________________________ jive mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/jive
