Given that a considerable number of home routers have issues with DHCP... not having a way to manually assign an IP address to the Controller is a bit disappointing. Having this capability is very useful if a user experiences "network" problems. Being able to take the DHCP server out of the loop is one of steps I usually take when I'm trying to resolve connection issues. This is specially useful when using Wireless networks. Taking one element out of the equation can save a lot of time when trying to solve wireless networks connection issues. Too many parameters to take into account. SSID, Wep/WPA keys, signal strength, wireless network interference... etc. Having a separate computer as a DHCP server is not a solution for those that just want to connect their SB to the SqueezeNetwork using just a routers.
