So I tried switching off DHCP on the router and then did a factory reset
on Jive.

I went through the setup wizard and it gave an error connecting to the
network, which is a bit inaccurate. It had connected, just not got an
IP. But at least it gave the option to assign an IP manually, which I
did. After specifying the subnet mask etc.,I got to the option to
specify a DNS server. It defaults to the default gateway, but would go
no further. I changed it to a a different DNS server, but the Jive
would not complete setup.

So has anyone else given their Jive a static IP?

Since I couldn't get any further, I couldn't try giving the Duet a
static IP.

When I tried to revert to using DHCP, I got as far as the Choose Player
screen which just had a "Set Up Squeezebox" option, I selected it and
got a "Set Up Receiver" screen. So there's still a few "Sqeezebox"
strings hanging around in the firmware code.

When I setup the Duet, the Jive can no longer see my local server when
it comes out of the ad-hoc network state it goes into to talk to the
Duet. I only get the option of connecting to Squeezenetwork, so I have
to reboot to get jive connected to my network correctly.

Whoops, spoke to soon, it does see my server eventually, but it took a
minute or 2. However it couldn't connect to the server and then got
into the Set up Receiver screen again. Time for a reboot
