Update on the purple light thing: the SBR now spends most of its time switching between white and purple. Sometimes it flickers, sometimes it stays white or purple for several minutes on end. Looks quite random to me.
I've been playing with Felix's TricolorLED plugin. When I choose Green, it flickers between bright green and dim green. If the green component is on its way out, then that would explain the white/purple switching too. I'd be interested to hear if other folks have seen similar problems?
