Regarding my setup: I have SC running on XP Home. As I stated before, I haven't set up the SBR yet, so was playing my SB3 using the controller. I've never used the alarm component, so I don't think that's it in my case. When quitting for the night, I went to main menu of SBC, clicked on "Turn off (SB3 Name)", turned off receiver (thank God) and went to bed. When I got up the next morning the display on the SB3 was displaying song title and song progess, happily playing away to itself.
I don't know of any resets, or other activity that occured.
