Thanks for all your efforts. Although in principle CML1 is a subset of CML2 there are several deprecated elements (float and coordinate2 or coordinate3) and existing code will probably stop supporting them.

Yes it is an error. It cannot be schema-checked but we shall provide stylesheets to throw an error.
