Wait a minute Bob. Let me review the pages I have looked at this morning.

This one works.

This one does not. Nothing happens when you click on an atom.

Nor does this one. When you click the links, text changes appear in the file: cmd boxes, but nothing happens to the structure.

As long as updating fixes the problem, and someone adds 10.3.8 to the black list, I'm not particularly interested in pursuing it. I think everyone else has said it worked for them. Glad to hear that. I'm especially glad to see that putting "show file" at the end of an initial script works on a wide platform base. The only gripe I have now is that the show file message returns with no indication what it is. The JavaScript has to sort out all the messages. A smarter way to do this would be to return a "thread" value from the .script() command, somewhat in the way setTimeout() returns an event ID, and have that value then also returned as a third parameter in the messagecallback, so that one could know what the call is from. Right now I think a call "show file" returns two or three independent messages. Wish they could be sorted out. My JavaScript just has to guess that this one is a file and that one is not.

Thanks, Tim,

Is it worth it pursuing why this might be?

Let's try all files in .html directory:

http://www.stolaf.edu/people/hansonr/jmol/applet/mscalc/view2.htm

Other files work for you, for example,

?
hi Bob,
according to my data for 10.3.8, and to Philip's recent email that it works in 10.3.9, maybe I'll just upgrade? now *none* of my Jmol material is working correctly in Safari, except local files. :-(
if you are really keen to track down the trouble, I'll help, but it appears to me that Apple broke something in 10.3.8 that they fixed in 10.3.9...
regards,
tim
