My finding is similar and yet different.
I have loaded Tim's original test page, sandwiched between two pages of mine which use different copies of JmolApplet.jar files on my local Mac, and all pages execute as designed in Safari, even reloading in a random fashion. However Bob's two pages, which I found to perform properly in two earlier tests fail when added to the group. The others continue to function well after this addition.

sure. sorry. Between the two we have two different JmolApplet.jar files being used on the SAME site, and between them and your page we have two different JmolApplet.jar files on two DIFFERENT sites. Same file.
All should do the same thing exactly.... Right? .... maybe not on some Macs... depending upon how they are loaded.
