Chuck, as far as I know isosurfaces are controlled with the "isosurface" command. "display" only affects atoms and bonds, labels probably too. If you want to see a portion of an isosurface there is probably a way to do it, like using the "select" and "ignore" tokens in the "isosurface" command.
