Bob, thanks a lot for the comprehensive response.
It's true, I am just working myself into the Jmol documentation and I 
need to build up a bit of intuition on what can be done how, I have no 
doubt that Jmol is powerful enough to provide us with a solution, it all 
depends on how to combine the functions.
I haven't thought of the option to recalculate the boundbox after a 
structure has been rotated, it sounds quite helpful indeed.
For the other points, I'll be going through them.

Once again, thanks again for the support. Btw, is it possible that Jmol 
works better with Safari than with Firefox under Mac OS X? I experience 
that it is not possible to zoom in/out under Firefox while with Safari 
its no problem.
