I did find that in Safari Preferences>security>java there is a list of trusted 
sites.  Somehow I was able to get Local documents onto that list.  So JSmol 
does work at this point, I think.   I will look at the new release and see how 
that works.   Unfortuanetly, preparing for company at the moment.
