I think the trick to getting the java applet running in Safari 7.0 from the
desktop is to go to the develop menu and check the “Disable Local File
restrictions” link. That allows the applet to run in Test2. Your latest
release this evening (…25c) runs fine in Safari, with the restrictions
disabled, for both jmol and jsmol. I suspect that it is only the developer or
a presenter who will need to take that route. And one can quickly activate and
deactivate that option.
