Since I expect to hear this from a lot of people, I'd just like to say that I 
consider this position to be very unfair.  I did not speak out against 
anyone's right to free speech.  Nor did I say that I want to silence dissent. 
 If you think I'm narrow minded, that is your right.  However, I feel 
compelled to stand up in defense of the right of the United States to strike 
back when attacked like this.  I have seen numerous emails over the last 
several weeks pointing out the flaws of the US and its foreign policy and 
pleading for peace.  I've been biting my tongue and not responding.  If you 
feel blamed by what I said, let me tell you that I feel equally blamed when 
reading editorials such as Kingsolver's.  Also, calling me un-American is a 
really low blow.  I will defend your right to say whatever you please, but 
that does not mean I have to agree with it.
