Never heard of a cheese steak! I guess it's most famously a Philadelphia thing, but I thought it had spread around the country. It's basically a hot hero, or hot submarine, or hot grinder, or whatever you call that kind of sandwich in your region, with either sliced or shredded beef, melted or semi-melted cheese, and fried onions. Some have tomatoe sauce too, and some people put hot peppers on them. Tres gourmet.
