these posts about accents are interesting. For some reason made me think of Joan Crawford. Don't remember the name of the movie but she is a spinster, dating a younger man. The man is being driven to insanity by his cheating wife and his father. They are having an affair. Very tawdry. Joan has a confrontation with the woman and calls her a "slut." She does it in such a way that made the movie. Have never heard anyone say the word with such venom, so deep down from inside, so guttural. Maybe only a fag would notice.
